Writes of Spring - short story competition

Writes of Spring is a short story competition run by the State Library of Victoria and Victorian public libraries.
Adults and children can pick up an illustrated postcard from your local public library and write a story inspired by the illustration, directly onto the postcard. Entries can use any layout of the card (portrait, landscape, with text on the diagonal or in spirals!) and any medium (pen, ink, paint, collage, etc.), so long as the story is legible. There is no word limit; however entries are limited to one side of the postcard. All entries must be on the official entry form, i.e. the postcards. There is no email or online submission of entries.
Winning entries will be published in a book which will become part of the collection of every public library in Victoria. The winning entries will be scanned and published exactly as presented (showing handwriting, printed text, collage, drawings, etc.) and will be geographically, socially and stylistically diverse.
The competition is now open and closes Friday 21 September 2012.
