An item no self-respecting greenie should be without....a library card

Reading is generally thought of as a green, low-impact activity, but books made from virgin paper are contributing to deforestation across the world. Though some publishers use sustainably sourced or recycled fibres, you can't beat a borrowed book. Libraries ensure resources aren't unnecessarily wasted - why should 10 people buy 10 separate copies of a book, when they could all happily share just one?
