March - Australian Women's History month

This month is Australian Women's History Month (WHM).  Initiated in 1999, with a launch at Parliament House in Canberra by Senators Margaret Reid and Amanda Vanstone and MHR Carmen Lawrence in 2002, Women’s History Month Australia has been celebrated annually since.

Marking the end of WHM, a landmark debate will take place in Canberra on 26 March 2014 to investigate whether Australia needs Women’s History Month.   This debate might mark the end of Women’s History Month Australia.
